Kensington recommend the use of the 42.4mm system for internal domestic use only. 0.36kN/m² We have chosen to use 50.8mm x 3.0mm system for commercial use in preference to the commonly used 48.3 x 2.6mm so as to achieve the required standard of 0.74kN/m². Our structural calculations using 50.8 x 3.00mm confirm post centres at 1250mm (see details). While calculations confirm maximum post centres using 48.3 x 2.6mm wall were as low as 800mm – 1030mm depending on configuration. Hence the 50.8mm offers:-

It remains the responsibility of the installer to ensure that any proposed assembly meet the standard required. Our calculation are based upon the use of the two part epoxy (MMA 300) in conjunction with the base plate, spigot and bolt. In all other applications the epoxy resin should be applied to the inside of the tube. Remove any surplus resin before it hardens.
